About the Friends of the Library

Information about the Friends of the Library and how to be a friend
The Friends of the Library are made up of volunteers whose mission is to support the programs of the Library.

The Friends sponsor two Used Book Sales each year.

Library programs and supporting materials are funded by the Friends. These have included the Spring program, the adult Winter reading club, the Summer Reading program and a variety of other programs throughout the year.

The Friends membership year starts in July and ends in June and the suggested donation for membership is ten dollars.

The Friends Book Shoppe is open during the hours the Library is open. The Shoppe sells gently used books and notecards. They also offer free donated magazines and information about community events and organizations.

Donations to the Friends:
  • can be delivered to the Library Circulation Desk
  • can include gently used books and magazines
  • must be clean, free of mold, mildew, stains and insects
  • should not be outdated or damaged materials
  • become the property of the Friends and will be used as best determined by Library Staff
Please do not donate:
  • Encyclopedias
  • Reader’s Digest Condensed Books
  • textbooks
  • VHS tapes
  • books on cassette tape
Please limit donations to 1 box or bag at a time.
